MICHELLE WILLIAMS: ‘THE GREATEST’ [NEW VIDEO]…

Posted by Toya on October 21, 2008

Michelle Williams premiered her brand new video ‘The Greatest’ earlier today on Yahoo Music. The track is the second song to be lifted from her latest album ‘Unexpected’:

She looked great and I was liking the concept overall. But will this song give ‘Unexpected’ the push it really needs or have they left it too little too late?

i agree with you on how she looked…she was on fiyah especially in the purple dress and the grey sequinned numbers…but um what concept toya?

But will this song give ‘Unexpected’ the push it really needs or have they left it too little too late?

She Should’ve Released A Double 1st Single ‘We Break The Dawn’ & ‘Till The End Of The World’ In BOTH America & Europe, That Would’ve Saved Her @ Least, Then The 2nd Should’ve Been A Slow Number, Maybe ‘Thank You’ Or ‘Stop This Car’.
But The Video Does Look Great, Just A Lil Plain IMO

Okay, nowadays simplicity is the name of the game…this video’s concept is Michelle getting out of bed preparing herself to see whom she considers the greatest…but there is 2 sides to this video, her and other atheletes and regular every day mean who could be consider great, but at the end of the video she looks out the gate door, and smiles to the screen - Obviously she is looking at you…she is saying you are the greatest…the fan

Brandy hit the studio with Timbaland earlier this month to record some new material for her upcoming LP Human. The two last worked together on 2004’s Afrodisiac. While critically acclaimed, the album was a commercial disappointment and ended with the singer parting ways with Atlantic Records.

The 29-year-old will shoot a video for her second single “Long Distance” later this week in Los Angeles with director Ray Kay, who has photographed several Rap-Up covers including the recent “Brave New Girls” issue with Keri Hilson, Solange, and Teyana Taylor.

Brandy’s fifth studio album Human will be released on December 9th.

I like the video She looks good, but I’m with Jayden, it may be too late. More promo should have already been done. The cd is out and I feel like I’m the only person in the world who bought it. Oh well…

Thanks for explaining that Marion cause alot of people wouldn’t get it. I think the video is simple but good. Will it help the album depends on radio and if the video picks up on mtv or bet.

I agree this video should have came out a few months ago so it is uncertain how far it will push the album if the promo and it not getting out to the public.

    Hello Mr. Fireman!

Michelle was working the hell out of that purple dress. I loved it! As for the video….it was bland.

  11. Michelle Says:

Love the song and the video. It’s a shame she’s underperforming the way she is. Oh well…

Then ppl wonder why she didn’t have enough promo or strong sales… you can’t invest in something that’s risky… its called the Music Industry… I wish her luck though She should’ve stuck w/ GOSPEL… :-)

rly love this song, had it on my ipod for so long. i’ll be honest, michelle was always my least favourite dc member but i’ve found myself loving so many tracks on this album. I DON’T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS ‘WE BREAK THE DAWN’ IS ONE OF THE HOTTEST SONGS OF THE YEAR
