Hollywood TV caught up with Brandy as she left Katsuya in Hollywood earlier this week. The R&B veteran says that the late Michael Jackson was “the biggest influence on my life”. Brandy said if there was going to be a public memorial or a private one that she’s invited to, she’ll be there:

As it turns out, a memorial service for the singer will be held at the Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7th). For more info, click here. The two-hour funeral is expected to draw in ONE MILLION fans in attendance with 750 MILLION expected to watch on television. There is even talk that some of the biggest names in music will perform at the event. An official statement is expected to be released from The Jackson family shortly.
As this is all MJ-related I may as well include everything in one post rather than start lots of new ones. X Factor champ Leona Lewis has tributed the late King of Pop this week.

In a new blog entry, she writes: “Michael Jackson was and forever will be one of the greatest influences in music. I don’t know a single person who was not moved in some way by him. I remember him being such an inspiration to me and my family growing up. We’d always have MJ playing or be watching his videos or copying his dance moves. It is a great loss to music and my prayers go out to the Jackson family. Thank you for the music Michael you will live on in our hearts forever”. At one time, the singer was RUMOURED to be joining Michael onstage at his London ‘This Is It’ concerts. She denied four weeks ago that there was any truth to it, but did say it would have been an honour. She also covered MJ’s ‘I Can’t Help It’ which she did for her demo ‘Twilight’ before entering X Factor in 2006.
Another X Factor set of stars who came second last year, is boyband JLS. They too, also shared their tributes.

Marvin Humes, speaking on behalf of JLS, said: “We are all devastated. The most influential man in popular music and the best there was, has and will ever be. He has been the biggest inspiration to JLS musically and we’re all shocked at the terrible news. Our thoughts go out to his children and his family and we send them our best wishes and pray for strength for them at this difficult time. All four of us have paid tribute to Michael individually and collectively throughout our careers and will always continue to do so where possible, so that his legacy continues and his legendary music remain celebrated. We will not dwell on the negatives and be sad; we must highlight the positives and remember the greatest entertainer that lived for all his innovative, legendary and incomparable genius. Michael . . . Oritsé, Marvin, Aston and JB love you and will miss you terribly, may your soul now finally rest in peace”. Last year on the X Factor, they had a Michael Jackson tribute week and JLS performed ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’. As Michael was their biggest idol and they enjoyed performing the song, they included it on their setlist when they supported labelmate Lemar on his UK tour back in March. And just like Leona, they were also rumoured to be performing at MJ’s London concerts. The band NEVER did confirm or deny the rumour. Whenever they were asked they would say they couldn’t really talk about it.

I feel sorry for celebrities in some ways, Brandy stayed and answered question got in her car started and they still wouldn’t stop snapping! The poor girl was trying to concentrate on the road with the flashing of lights and people talking. Thats how accidents are caused.
