♫ RYAN LESLIE: ‘YOU’RE NOT MY GIRL’ [OFFICIAL 1ST SINGLE]…

Posted by Toya on July 1, 2009

Ryan Leslie has been recording his sophomore album ‘Transition’ and the talented singer/producer premiered the album’s first single on his Twitter. The lead single from his forthcoming album Transition is titled ‘You’re Not My Girl’ and you can listen to it below:

This is fantastically amazing. It sounds like a mix between the sounds taken from Michael Jackson’s ‘Off The Wall’ and Justin Timberlake’s ‘Justified’ with some additional retro spunk. The track packs some serious punch and is about to terrorise the ipod. I’ll try my best not to overplay it though but that will be kind of hard. Ryan only just released a new album in February of this year and it was absolutely brilliant. Just click on the tag to read my album review. I am really stunned he is putting out a new album so soon. It hasn’t even been a full year yet but I’m not complaining. His music is hot and his beats are simply banana’s. I haven’t been this anticipated about an R&B male’s album since Usher’s ‘Confessions’ and Craig David’s ‘Slicker Than Your Average’.

It’s alright, hopefully it’s a grower. The whole sound just sounds out-of-date. His last album was pretty good, and he’s an awesome producer, so I’m deff anticipating this, only thing is that his voice isn’t all that and would probs enjoy his songs more if he wasn’t singing them, lol.

    I LOVE this song.
Its taken me a while but i’ve only just got into his album.
It took me a few months to really appreciate it but now im hooked.

I really hope he gets the success he deserves because he really does deserve it.
    This song is crazy.

I’m just not a fan. I don’t think he can sing nor do I think the beats are all that great. I guess I am in the minority cuz I don’t get Drake either.

  6. Uzo Says:

Love it, Ryan has always been amazing to listen to and watch. He is the full package. Lol, his new album was released in February of THIS year and he’s releasing a new album in the next few months lol, I think it’s great tho, cos I loved the first album, but I’d heard most of the tracks like 2 years ago.

    Yes … I love R.Les

  9. MilekaNo Gravatar Says:

Not really feelin’ it. It sounds like left over from his last album - which I didn’t like either. He’s a much better producer than artist imo.

it’s alright. Nothing to slap yo own mama about.

  13. NeelaNo Gravatar Says:

@Denise As much as I love him:

    - He is extremely talented, tought himself how to play many instruments. During an interview he got asked “Which instruments can you play?” and he answered “Better ask me which instruments I CAN NOT play!”

    He’s not that humble lol

  14. DeniseNo Gravatar Says:

Hmm I’ll better change that… but in that interview he didn’t say it in an arrogant way… he said it in a nice, informative way.
He IS humble. And he gives great hugs. He’s a great guy. I met him 2 times. He was always extremely nice to me and everyone else.

Nice song. I like him even more after he randomly gave some fan an ipod in NY on twitter and signed it.

  16. MilekaNo Gravatar Says:

@ Denise - I think DO think he’s brilliant, just more so as a producer than recording artist.

  17. MilekaNo Gravatar Says:

Same with Sean Garret and Pharrell.

  18. Yi nanaNo Gravatar Says:

The track is hot as hell. This the song of the moent right here. It’s production is very reminiscent of the 70’s which I love. Good Stuff.
