Beyoncé’s rendition of the Etta James’ classic ‘At Last’ leaked in high quality this week. The song will appear on the ‘Cadillac Records’ soundtrack which has a release date of Dec 2nd. The movie, which stars Beyonce herself will hit theatres on Dec 5th, and a video with movie clips is also expected to be released for the for the single:
I don’t really care for the song but she does a nice job of it vocally. When Beyonce played the legendary blues singer, she had to pile on an extra 15 pounds. Beyonce says that putting on the weight was an easier and a more enjoyable experience than when she had to lose the weight for ‘Dreamgirls’. I can imagine all her binging on popeyes, biscuits and icecream, the full works. You can see fat Beyonce after the cut.

From the looks of the picture it does appear that she may be doing some good acting, but I doubt it. I will need to see the movie to judge her performance worthy of an Oscar. As history has proven, she can’t act.

Her rendition of the song was nice, obviously she sang it in character and kept it restrained.i prefer her live performances of this song than xtina’s over singing/over riffing live version. As for the pic, you can see beyonce was dedicated to the character, enough to make the physical transformation. obviously this was shot around last year dec and early this year, since she back to her normal healthy weight. Can’t wait to see the movie.

Do you know when you see ‘really good performances’? You make getting an Oscar sound as if it’s just another trinket, another trophy. I suppose the Nobel Peace Prize is like an Oscar or a Grammy to you, too. I’m just ranting to rant and really not just in reference to Beyonce or JHud or Halle Berry or Jamie Foxx or whatever. I just think folk trivialize the prestigiousness of being recognized on that level and will never understand the seriousness of it from the outside looking in; and this is from someone in the know, okay?
