When Tweet first hit the scene with Oh My (Oops), and dropped her debut Southern Hummingbird (which was a great album), I remember when she was hailed as the new Missy protege since Aaliyah. Actually, it was kind of a big deal. And she was considered the next best thing since sliced bread (as was Nicole Wray and where is she now?). Anyway, record sales were great but her sophomore album Its Me Again didn’t match the previous accolades of the first album. Now Tweet is back with a third studio album called Love Tweet, which is set for a June 10th release. When Tweet did a recent interview with The Singersroom, and she was asked about Missy neglecting her, Tweet felt the need to keep it real. Check out her response:

Singersroom: Some sites, particularly the black blogosphere, hinted in the past that Missy may have neglected working with you in favor of working with Keyshia Cole. Do you want to address those rumors?

Tweet: Oh no! I mean I haven’t read anything like that, but thank you for keeping it real. I don’t know. Missy is an opportunist I guess, and whatever’s hot at the time that’s what she’s gonna roll with. [SOURCE]

Short, blunt, and to the point! I like that! An opportunist is seen as somewhat negative because it implies that you are following the trends rather than staying true to yourself. And to be honest with you, outside of Alicia Keys and Solange Knowles, EVERYBODY is doing just that. So what’s new? It’s like, in this industry, you have to sacrifice a piece of your soul to go further into higher territory.

Usher is acknowledging the fact that when the day comes for him to retire music (to concentrate on fatherhood, his record label and other business ventures), Chris Brown is the one set to take his place.

Usher is quoted as saying the following: “All of this young energy is great for the industry. Chris is the guy who dances and sings, which is a lot like I do and did as a young artist as well. If time serves us correctly, and artists are continuing to better themselves, then hopefully he’ll follow the same path that I did” [SOURCE]

In another recent interview with Parlour, Usher addresses the haters, his growth as an artist, his new forthcoming album Here I Stand (May 27th) and his role as a father. As for the Chris Breezy comments, Usher be smelling his ass like roses on a lighted up scented stick. Chris has always channelled himself after Michael Jackson (as did Justin Timberlake who he’s been snotty about previously), and also, Chris incites MJ as his no 1 influence and it shows. Whilst Usher is obviously the better SINGER, Chris is no doubt the better DANCER. Like Usher, Chris started out when he was in his mid-teens, so I can easily see where the two are comparable. HOWEVER, if Chris wasn’t seeing massive success, he’d be no different from your Omarion’s, Marques’s and Mario’s who also incorporate the singer-dancer category rather fluently.

It seems luck has no bearing on R&B songstress Mya. Shelved albums, shelved TV shows…. even her broadway Chicago stint has even been touched by bad luck. Unfortunately, the singer’s broadway Chicago May 12th debut has been postponed because she’s broken her foot.

Poor Mya. This chick can’t catch a break AT ALL. It’s just been one disaster after another for the singer’s career. I hope her foot heals really soon so that she can get back to doing what she’s good at - performing.
